BEYOND ACADEMICS
The MCET family comprising of the students, faculty members and the management focus on multifarious aspects supporting social, cultural and recreational activities. The students under the guidance of some faculty members went on to the streets to collect help of any kind for orissa supercyclone victims.The amount collected was handed over to the CM. The students even contributed for the kargil crisis and handed it to the ABP Kargil fund.Thus the students have grafted themselves to the society.
CULTURAL PROGRAMME  
The fresher's welcome ceremony "FOLIAGE" and the Annual Fest "CORUS" are the platforms for cultural performance of MCETians. They also organize the farewell ceremony "NOSTALGIA" every year.
CORUS
The Fifth Annual Social "CORUS 2004" maintained the very spirit of this special day for every MCETian. The Bengali Band "Fossils" rocked the venue through its electrifying songs. Rupankar performed on the day of 2nd Reunion "Nostalgia-04".Among many others, CORUS 2000 saw the bengali band 'CHANDRABINDU' rock the hearts of students, faculty members and other respected guest.
    CORUS 2001 holds one of the most important positions in the column of Latest happenings. CORUS 20001 was held on 24th May 2001, saw meticulous planning and planful execution of the culturally woven programme. It was the manifestation of unity that exists among the members of the MCET family. The various programmes appealed to all sections of the people present there. Among others, distinguishd artists were "Ajit Pandey" and the bengali band "PARASH PATHOR". While Ajit pandey pacified the guests, 'PARASH PATHOR' made the young students swing rythymically to their beat. There was dancing, humming and clapping throughout the show and people enjoyed to the hilt. SOCIAL SERVICE  
  • MCETians organise Voluntary Blood Donation Camp every year. Furthermore the help for victims of Natural Calamity by organising programme for that.
  • The students under the guidance of some faculty members went on to the streets to collect help of any kind for orissa supercyclone victims.The amount collected was handed over to the CM.
  • The students even contributed for the kargil crisis and handed it to the ABP Kargil fund.
SEMINAR/WORKSHOP/EXHIBITION  
  • Engineering fair held at Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM), Kolkata during February 04 to 08, 2003.
  • TECHFAIR-CLUBFEST '03 organized by Jadavpur University, during March 19-21, 2003. Mr. Saswata Pal and Krishnendu Choudhury secured Second position in the FEST.
  • CONVERGENCE-2003, a National Level Technical Festival held at Ganpat Vidyanagar, Kherva-382711, North Gujrat, during October 10-12, 2003. Two of our students were awarded with consolation prize.
  • KSHITIJ-2004 held at IIT Kharagpur during 16-18, 2004. Krishnendu Choudhury and Saswata Pal were placed in the second position in the Tech-Darshan Chapter.
  • Digha Science Centre and National Service Camp held during January 19-29, 2004.
  • 6th Internal Exhibition of Electrical, Professional, Electronics and Allied Products held at New Delhi during February 03-07,2004.
  • Engineering Fair held at Birla Industrial and Technological Museum(BITM), Kolkata during Feb 12-14,2004. Six groups of our students of various disciplines attended the fair. One such group from ECE Dept. obtained scholarship @ Rs.500/-per month per student for one year.
  • TechKriti-2004 held at IIT, Kanpur during Feb 25-28,2004.
  • SRIJAN-a State Level seminar held at NIT, Durgapur during Feb 28 to March 01, 2004.
